Very nice sight
Nice short hike with a good view of the Kinzig valley
Small ruined castle with very well described local history. Also very scenic with a view of the Kinzig valley
Worth a visit ...
Small but beautiful ruin with a few well-made signs about the historical background
The ruin is very well maintained, with a great view of the Kinzigt valley! Lots of information boards about the castle and the life of the rafts! In addition, many hiking trails!
Nice place. Ruin well maintained and beautiful view.
Nice hiking destination, not very big. You can have a nice snack at the pavilion.
Great ambience. Has a nice location. The food is very tasty, there is a great selection of Italian dishes. The staff was courteous and friendly. Great place 👍🏻
Easily accessible and repaired ruin. The area is well maintained and you have a beautiful view of the Kinzig valley towards Schenkenzell and Schiltach.
Very nice for walking and scenery
Excellent signposted on the Burgofad, plus the imposing state of preservation of the palace and keep!
You have a great view here. The information about the history of the castle is very well presented.
Not much remains of the Schenkenburg, but the remaining walls and the great view tell the story of how this modest castle, just outside Schiltach, controlled travel through the Kinzig valley.
Quiet beautiful place with a great view. You can park down on the mountain and reach the ruin in 10 minutes. on foot.
Nice enough little walk to the ruins to break up the drive. You can be here half hour.
Nice little ruin, with various circular routes and informative signs about the history of the castle and the surrounding area. If you are in the area anyway, a short detour is worthwhile.
The ascent to the first information board of the castle is relatively okay. However, the further ascent is very difficult due to the washed-out paths, the ascent is very difficult. The 2 stone stairs are intended to facilitate the ascent are crooked and almost impossible to master for people with knee problems After crossing the wooden bridge, the descent to the ruin is also difficult as the paths are very spongy and slippery due to the rain
Beautiful and spectacular but not original
There is a circular hike from the Aichhalden customs house over the ruins to the control cabinet. The not very big ruin is easy to walk with some paths and stairs and offers beautiful views.
Great pizza, reasonable prices, friendly and fun staff. Eaten delicious and laughed a lot, not expensive - what more could you want?
Nice ruin which unfortunately too little has remained of. Can be visited from the parking via a short climb. We have made a signposted walk from Schiltach through the woods through the woods and back.
Nice medieval castle ruin located just outside Schenkenzell on top of a small hill with nice views over the surrounding area. The theme-path leading to the ruin is marked with signs (in German) telling the history of the ruin and the local rafters who used to move timber over the streams and rivers for hundreds of years. It's an easy and pleasant hike from Schenkenzell to the ruin (and back).
Nice view
Nice little hike, though there is not much left to the castle. The views are very nice. There are also a number of hiking/walking trails in this area behind the ruins.
